Al Hambra Palace

Since my first visit to southern Spain many years ago, I have been constantly impressed and amazed and by the richness and beauty of the remaining signs of Arab architecture dating from the Moorish presence of the second Umayyed Dynasty, that ruled Spain for five hundred years.

Every time I visited over the last 30 years I seemed to find a new hidden gem of breathtakingly beautiful architecture, combined with intricate craftsmanship and colorful tiles, all set in the dappled shade of gardens and fountains. What artist could fail to be inspired by this vision of an earthly paradise.
