Under The Arches
This is a scene from a summer house, owned by a relative, that we would often visit for a picnic and a swim during those hot hot summer months.
It was a simple building in a peaceful setting amongst the date palms. Just four walls constructed of local stones with simple arches inside the square providing support for a roof shade over a small decorated maglis. The structure was built over a natural spring-you can just see the corner of it in my painting. It’s a work full of nostalgic childhood memories.
